Q. How many people does the Child Support Agency (CSA) employ?
A. At the end of June 2009 the CSA employed 8,900 people, down from 9,500 a year ago.
Q. What is the average number of days' sick absence?
A. In the 12 months to October 2008 average sickness absence was 11.1 days.
Q. Many parents claim they cannot get through to the CSA on the phone - what are you doing about this?
A. There has been a significant and sustained improvement since 2004/05, and we are now comfortably exceeding the CSA standards with respect to waiting times and the percentage of calls answered.
At the end of June 2009 performance showed that we answered 99% of telephone calls available to employees to answer. The average waiting time is 8 seconds (current system cases) or 6 seconds (old system cases).
